Windows Genuine Advantage
Just a quick blurb.
Well I was about to download Microsoft Windows Defender. Then I see that WGA needs to validate my copy of Windows so I’m like crap, what should I do. Hmm I do I look for a hack or download it on another PC. Then after a couple minutes I come to the realization, I have a valid copy of Windows XP MCE! Ha. Why would I worry about WGA if I have a valid copy of Windows. Was just stuck in the mindset of using a hacked/cracked copy. It’s nice to finally be legal. I just installed the Firefox plugin from MS, restarted Firefox and went to download and it said valid and just downloaded.
Is WGA really all that bad except for the false positives?

If you have a non original windows is really bad, everytime you boot you see a “you might have been victim of software piracy disc_lamer”, you cannot update, it is really annoying!… but there are always ways to change the serial with a valid one, just go to a department store and look behind computer cases, yeah, that original windows oem sticker, thats all you need and some hacking, thats it, valid, absolutely valid, not legal, but valid
I work retail and i hate people like you.
Why don’t you just open the case and flog the RAM while your at it.
If you don’t wana pay for software or your OS just use FOSS it’ll cause you less problems in the long run anyway.
Sorry Lego that was to “me” not you
Did that last sentance even make sence?
ah well

I do use FOSS. I have Linux on both of my PCs. I even had a Linux PDA. I really don’t see your point. It was a second hand computer case and it did come with a license sticker on the side. Never bothered to call MS to activate it.
My older PC I had I always used a cracked copy. (this was before WGA even existed). It had a legal license but I installed Windows on there many times over.
I don’t have a big problem with people using pirate software or not wanting to register their software.
Some people have genuine privacy concerns about giving out there personal data.
And Bill won’t miss his AU$150 for an OEM windows.
But all “me” is doing is inflicting their cheapscatedness on other people.
Now when that PC is sold the customer is going to have trouble setting it up and the first person they are going to call is me (thats SunGod. You know this would be a lot easer if me had given themselves a better name.) and I have to spend at least 30min on the phone explaining to them that I haven’t ripped them off,
that their copy of windows is genuine,
no this has nothing to do with the fact your PC doesn’t come with a windows disk…….
well your friend Susie must have bought a different brand PC……..
no you need to contact M$…. just follow the links…..
no I can’t do anything if you bring it back to the store……..
their’s half an hour to an hour I won’t get back.
So anyway thats why I got pissed of with “me”
