People are stupid

This is the 6th person from my school to die in the past year. This time a friend of mine. She decided to commit suicide by overdosing.

I saw her last weekend and she seemed fine and happy.

MySpace is now secretly targeting preteens!

Look closely at the MySpace front page as of the time of this posting. Notice the Bratz ad? Bratz is paying MySpace to place that on the front page on MySpace gets money for it. Whats wrong with this? Bratz besides being a slutty toy for preteens is on a site that is for people who are 14 and older. MySpace says they are determined to get rid of any under-aged members to help protect them against predators and indecent content. This got hypocrisy all over it!

Not all youngins’ are bad

I’m not in a good mood. It may not seem like a big deal to some but this sort of stuff just drives me crazy. I get anxiety attacks from this sort of thing. My friend Tom(18) and I(17) were out at a gaming cafe for a couple hours. After that we drove just down to the next plaza over to the pizza place. After eating we decided to go for a walk around to let our bellies settle so Tom and I walked around to just talk and chill. We were in a Pep Boys parking lot and saw this shopping cart near the back with some stuff in it. We went up to the shopping cart to check it out. It was just some old wet boxes and torn garbage bags. Looked like stuff from the store that either an employee picked up and put in the cart or a customer just dumped there. Well it seems some employees were watching us in the parking lot so we decided to walk back to the car which was a bit of a distance. We were about to get into the car and a white truck with a Pep Boys employee in it came to us and started asking us stuff and said they already called the cops saying we dumped garbage in the shopping cart. I was like “huh?” I said it looked old and wet but he didn’t seem to care. Knowing that the cops were coming we agreed and didn’t want to have a problem. I asked where the dumpster was. And we walked over there quickly and as we were walking over the man in the white truck nearly hits Tom with the truck. It doesn’t help that he is deaf so he can’t hear something like that coming. So we got over there and we picked up the stuff and pushed the cart to the dumpster in the back of the place and pushed the cart back to the front of the place with the rest of the shopping carts. Right before we left we walked back to the five employees waiting outside in the corner of the parking lot to say it’s done. The man says “don’t you ever do that again” and such. So we left and got back into the car and drove back down to the gaming cafe.

It just ticks me off that people just assume that young people always cause trouble. He didn’t even check my story but I restrained myself from arguing. Tom just wanted to get it done with and not say anything back. The freaking garbage was wet from the rain and why would we walk all that distance to dump a couple bags of wet garbage bags and boxes that originated from Pep Boys! We don’t do drugs, smoke, drink, or do anything like that. Both of us are members of AFJROTC and we volunteer in the community.

Palm support is still incompetent!

From this thread at PalmInfocenter the longtime Palm enthusiast m130fullbutcontent just can’t seem to get Palm to replace his defective digitizer on his Palm T|X. For those who don’t know a digitizer on a Palm is the touch screen. Palm’s tech support just ignores all of his emails as if they don’t care. The 1 year warranty that comes with every Palm is suppose to cover defects. This is a defective digitizer! This has been going on for at least a month.

If Palm keeps this up, they will loose more and more customers as they already are.

If anyone at Palm is reading this, feel free to forward this to the appropriate people.  My contact at Palm hasn’t said anything yet.

It’s a load of crap. Sorry for the course language but it is. Not gonna happen. Palm doesn’t want to be bought out. Palm doesn’t like being ruled by another company. Palm as a company doesn’t need to be bought out.

This isn’t the first time rumors like this popped up. I don’t like big investors. Do they seriously know what they are saying at all? I doubt that understand the technology and the companies.

BestBuy customers loosing out on sales?

Have you ever found a deal at Best Buy’s website only to travel to the store and find that the “sale” is over? Did the Best Buy employee show you “proof” on their “website”? It now seems that there are really TWO websites, and they’re identical except for the prices.

So it’s like this, the real website has the sale but when BestBuy employees look it up on the computer at the store, they are actually seeing a special employee page that may not have the same sale on the real website.

I’m glad I know this! The same thing happened with computer RAM. I did not confirm this but I did see it on sale the previous day on the site but when I went to the store it was “no longer on sale.” I didn’t go forth with buying it.

Is someone plotting against me? PC problems :(

My custom built computer decided to kick the bucket no idea why. After two weeks of testing and swapping parts I gave up.

So I go to my backup PC. A 1.1ghz AMD Duron. Things didn’t go well there either! Decided to do the same crap the first PC was doing. Am I going insane? The only explanation is that someone or something doesn’t want me to use a PC (points fingers at Apple iBook) or that multiple parts don’t work. So I’m gonna have to really work on that. RAM appears to work fine. Video card appears to work fine. All my hard drives are questionable.

What I really want is access to all the media stored on my 60gb HDD. My external HDD enclosure fried months ago. I really want to upgrade my iBook’s 60gb internal HDD to 160gb and toss the old 60gb in a cheap enclosure from eBay.

Someone in Brazil bought a Palm T|X. His computer wouldn’t detect it and wouldn’t connect. He called Palm’s tech support and they told him it was defective and they would exchange it. He shipped it out and he is gonna get a refurbished one to replace it. He is still waiting for a replacement.

This is where it went wrong. No replacement was needed. It’s most likely a software issue. The dimwit at Palm tech support just wasted a customer’s time and replaced his new Palm with a refurbished one that he is still waiting for. There are software solutions for this.
